Aleatha Romig, Queen of Darkness and Thriller has done it again. Another amazing book to start what can only be another No.1 Series. Oh yes and there is a cliff-hanger, well it wouldn’t be an Aleatha book if there wasn’t which makes it all the more suspenseful.

I am not going to go into lots of detail as I feel that will spoil the storyline for these two amazing people, all I will say is this last series of books I am sure will not disappoint all Aleatha Romig Fans and I for one cannot wait for the next book.

I have always liked Lorna and Reid. The story behind them during the first series was always something I wondered about and to find out how Lorna came into the Sparrow World and I was so pleased that Aleatha included this story along with the other Sparrow people. This just makes the Sparrow’s complete now.

What I feel helps these stories, are the back stories to the characters, we don’t just get a play by play of what is happening now. Aleatha has written her series of books in a way you get to hear both sides of Loran and Reid’s story, their background, the backstory of who they are and how they got to where they are. I know there is more to tell in the other books but this just sets things up nicely.

This book is full of everything; it has intrigue, mystery, and keeps you on your toes and that is the way it should be.

The story does begin with Lorna and Sterling Sparrow’s wife, Araneae being kidnapped, I mean, seriously, do people not realise they are dealing with the King of Chicago’s underground and who in their right mind would even think of doing that and thinking they will get out alive.

The romance between Lorna and Reid is good, not in your face, all guns going which I have read too much of recently, but was a good quantity so you know these two have a connection and a strong one at that. There is real love there

This story goes at a good pace and you don’t get confused by what is going on which I find important, especially with this type of story with lots of suspense.

The amazing thing with these books is no matter how many times you read, you are always coming up with different scenario’s and you get yourself all twisted up wondering what will happen next. What I have learned reading Aleatha’s books is never to presume, you may think you know what is going to happen and you are nearly always wrong and that is to me the reason Aleatha Romig is a great writer.

I personally cannot wait for the next book.
