*** REVIEW *** WICKED AS SIN by Shayla Black

He’s ruthless. She’s off-limits. But he’s just met his one weakness… Now nothing will stop him from making her his.
Pierce “One-Mile” Walker has always kept his heart under wraps and his head behind his sniper’s scope. Nothing about buttoned-up Brea Bell should appeal to him. But after a single glance at the pretty preacher’s daughter, he doesn’t care that his past is less than shiny, that he gets paid to end lives…or that she’s his teammate’s woman. He'll do whatever it takes to steal her heart. Brea has always been a dutiful daughter and a good girl…until she meets the dangerous warrior. He’s everything she shouldn’t want, especially after her best friend introduces her to his fellow operative as his girlfriend—to protect her from Pierce. But he’s a forbidden temptation she’s finding impossible to resist. Then fate strikes, forcing Brea to beg Pierce to help solve a crisis. But his skills come at a price. When her innocent flirtations run headlong into his obsession, they cross the line into a passion so fiery she can’t say no. Soon, his past rears its head and a vendetta calls his name in a mission gone horribly wrong. Will he survive to fight his way back to the woman who claimed his soul?

Wicked as Sin is the first book of the Brea Bell and One-Mile duet.  Brea is a young, preacher’s daughter.  She is a little naïve and sheltered by her father and Cutter, her long-time friend.  She does what she can to conform to her father’s expectations, helping with his church, working as a hairdresser, and making herself available to serve others whenever possible.

Pierce “One-Mile” Walker is a loner.  His nickname is indicative of his sniper skills and his longest target of one mile.  His reputation of a bad-boy has Cutter warning Brea to stay away from him.  We all know what happens when warnings like this happen—they are easy to disregard.  Her first meeting with Walker sets her on fire; a reaction new to Brea.

I love so much about this story.  I’m a major fan of Shayla Black’s Wicked Lovers and Devoted Lovers series.  Wicked as Sin drops the reader smack dab in the middle of the Lovers’ world.  It is fun when my favorite characters make appearances in this story.  I love, love, love Cutter.  I love Pierce and the chemistry brewing between Pierce and Brea.

I’m not a big fan of Brea at this point.  It upsets me that she uses every excuse to be dishonest about her feelings for One-Mile, especially where Cutter is concerned.  In fact, she is so deceitful that she allows Cutter to spread lies to his co-workers.  In my mind, there is no excuse for her actions or inactions.  I’m sure Shayla will redeem Brea in the end, but right now I want to smack her upside her head.

Wicked as Sin is another suspense-filed drama that moves the reader to the edge of their seat, waiting for the next shoe to drop.  One-Mile is courageous, with a dark background.  He is totally misunderstood, and hopelessly in love with Brea Bell.  I cannot wait for April and the next book.  I need to know the end of this story.  There is a cliffhanger, but fortunately, it is only a couple months wait.  Wicked as Sin is a must read for lovers of romance with an extra dose of hotness.
