Shayla Black returns to the Devoted Lovers series with Devoted to Love.  This is the second book, and while there are characters from the previous book, this one can be read as a standalone.

What I love about this story is…surprise, surprise… Magnolia West and Josiah Grant.  They meet at Maggie’s sister’s wedding and jump into the sack for a perfect one-night stand.  Surprising even Josiah himself, he wants more than one night.  He has the perfect excuse to hang around a little longer.  There is danger brewing in Kendall County, and Maggie and her family are right in the middle of it.

Mrs. Black does an excellent job turning up the suspense with some unusual twists and turns.  At the same time, she ignites the relationship between Josiah and Maggie.  For good measure, she throws in a nice small-town setting that together makes my heart melt.

I love this book.  One reason, that I couldn’t put it down was the cult who stir up trouble for Maggie’s family and the town.  They are sinister and scary.  The tension starts slow then escalates until my stomach started to hurt.  I do love a book that takes me through the paces.  I’m a big fan of this couple.  I know we all read books and find couples that we like more than others.  I didn’t think anyone would outshine Cutter and Shealyn, but Josiah and Magnolia do it for me.

In true Shayla Black fashion, this couple is hot.  More than once I needed to turn down the AC.  All-in-all Devoted to Love is a most enjoyable read.  The suspense is nail-biting, and the romance is to die for.  In other words, a must-read.
