I met Bianca in an elevator.
She was on her way to interview me when we got stuck.
The beautiful, raven-haired reporter assumed I was a delivery guy because of the way I was dressed.
She had no clue I was really Dex Truitt, the wealthy, successful businessman she’d dubbed “Mister Moneybags”—her afternoon appointment.
Bianca told me how much she hated Dex’s type—snobby, over educated, silver- spooned men who didn't appreciate the simple things in life.
So, after the elevator finally started moving again, I cancelled the interview and let her believe I was someone I wasn’t—a bike messenger named Jay. I loved the way she looked at the fake me and didn't want it to end.
I began dating her as “Jay”—all the while letting her interview the real me over email.
I didn’t expect that our chemistry online would be just as hot.
I didn’t expect the mess I’d gotten myself into.
I didn’t expect that Jay and Dex would fall in love with her.
And she was falling for two men.
Only, both men were me.
And when she found out, we were both going to lose her.
Nothing could have prepared me for that day. And I certainly wasn't prepared for what came after.
All good things must come to an end, right? Except our ending was one I didn't see coming.

Mister Moneybags is the latest collaboration by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. Ever since I read Cocky Bastard, I keep an eye out for the great stories that these ladies create. I look forward to this book since its announcement, and it doesn’t disappoint at all.
Mister Moneybags is the story of Dexter Truitt, Jr. and Bianca
George. Bianca is late for an interview the mysterious Mr. Truitt. Continuously
punching the floor button, the elevator doesn’t move fast enough when it
stops cold. Bianca is trapped but not
alone. Startled by a voice behind her, she
drops her phone, has a panic attack, screams, and plays with her balls (Baoding balls).
It is a funny and fascinating
encounter that sets up the morphing of Dexter Truitt into Jay Reed.
There is no doubt as soon as Dex
decides to get to know Bianca as a “normal” guy and not a wealthy business owner
that everything was going to go wrong.
Bianca gets to know Jay in person and interviews
Dex via email. Before long Bianca finds
herself falling for both men. Of course, the ruse
must end and then the romance changes.
I love these two
characters. Bianca is a strong
independent woman with trust issues. She
knows what happens when men lie, they
leave their wife and children behind.
Dex knows what it is like to be the child of a man who lied, swindled
his customers, and cheated on his mother.
There are issues all around.
Mister Moneybags is told in the alternating points of view of Bianca and Dexter giving the reader insight
into the thoughts and actions of each character. The story is often light and funny with
moments that are sweet and lovable, then throw in a little angst and pain for
good measure to make a thoroughly enjoyable story.
There isn’t anything I didn’t
like about this book. After the second chapter, I convinced myself that I knew what
was coming—I was a little bit right but mostly wrong. Mister Moneybags is a well-written story with two strong central
characters. I love the way Dex romances
Bianca via email and the little gestures of kindness he shows not only Bianca
but other people he encounters. Dexter
Truitt has a humongous heart.
I adore how these two authors
collaborate. They write with one voice that takes the reader on an exciting
journey. Their
books are never boring. There are
a couple unexpected twists that put me on the edge of my seat and made me
anxious in a nice way. I highly recommend Mister Moneybags as well as the
other books by these two authors.
You will not regret it.
