“Anyone who enjoys a tight and intelligent plot with many unexpected twists and turns, on top of a deliciously angst-riddled and heat-infused romantic connection, will love SE Cooper’s debut novel; Silhouette” ~ Freya Barker, Award-winning Author
“SE had me hooked from page 1 right up until the last page. She kept me guessing along the way and the OMG moments were brilliant” ~ DL Gallie, Author of The Liquor Cabinet series
“I loved how S.E brought together two very complex, broken characters and being a part of their journey watching them trying to mend all the broken pieces and making them whole again...This book is simply phenomenal from the first word to the last.” ~ Kinky Kittens Book Blog
“I really really enjoyed this book. From the minute I picked it up, I found it difficult to put down. The style of writing is easy and just flows and the author has you hooked every chapter.” ~ A Book Lover’s Emporium Book Blog
I find myself saying this often
but, again, I have to repeat myself--One of the biggest benefits of being
involved with this blog is getting opportunities to read new authors early in
their career. It is so exciting to find
people with the talent of S.E. Cooper. Silhouette
is so captivating; it reminds me why I constantly look for requests to read new
authors.
Silhouette is my kind of book.
It completely pulled me into the life and drama of Clarissa (Ari) Solano
and Lane Hunter from the first page.
Clarissa is the child of a mother who left her and a father who was
killed. She is in hiding because bad people
are still out to get her. She has so
many secrets and doesn’t put down roots because she may need to run again.
Lane Hunter works for his father
in the family security business. He is
full of secrets too and charged with Ari’s security without her knowledge. Lane knows Ari is more than a job to him but
he tries hard to be professional. He
doesn’t want to fail. He knows failure
and can’t let Clarissa or his family down again. The chemistry is sizzling and his heart wants
Clarissa, or Tiger, as he calls her, and he is determined to do anything to
keep her safe.
Silhouette is told from Clarissa’s and Lane’s point of view. As I finish the book, the word that comes to my
mind is superb. Ms. Cooper does a fabulous
job of weaving a story with twists and turns to keep the reader on the edge of
their seat. The plot is very intricate
and fast paced but not overwhelming. There
is a good romance and a captivating mystery with subplots that wrap up nicely.
The characters are
multi-dimensional with layers and secrets that reveal a maze of clues to follow. The ancillary characters also add to the
depth and enjoyment of the story. I can’t
wait to read more about them in the future.
These characters, as well as the main characters, are believable,
interesting, and enjoyable to spend time with.
The banter between Clarissa and Lane is on point, sometimes, fun and
sometimes intense. The friends are
loyal, loving and individually gripping.
It is easy to see how they can spin-off to books of their own.
SE Cooper definitely has a
promising future. I expect to see her
quickly rise in the book community. She
is that good--a gifted writer. I can’t
tell you how many times stopped and Googled her to see if this is really her
first book. I can’t shout loud enough
that Silhouette
is a must read and SE Cooper is a writer to follow. I believe that my first novel of 2017 is
going to be one of my top favorites of the year. Excellent work!
