Book 2 in the Dirty Texas Series
(Can be read as standalone)
SHE WAS EVERYTHING I ALWAYS WANTED
I’m Christian Taylor, world famous guitarist of Dirty Texas. I’m a certified rock god, I have a reputation, tattoos and a body made for sin. One look from me and I’ll melt your panties.
There isn’t a woman out there who has ever said no to me, except Vanessa Roberts, the one woman I want above all and can’t have.
HE WAS EVERYTHING I COULD NEVER HAVE
Never fall in love with a rock star, it will only lead to heartbreak. Well that’s easier said than done especially when that rock star is your best friend, room-mate and client.
Christian is off limits, I’ve learnt the hard way to never mix business and pleasure but after five years of resisting him, my resolve is starting to crumble.
One little taste can’t hurt, can it?

Suddenly Together is my introduction to JA Lows’ storytelling skills—I’m impressed. This book is the second novel in the Dirty Texas series focusing on Christian and Vanessa. There is something for everyone, funny banter, hot chemistry, the crazy rock and roll scene, and finally, while the general tone of the book is light there is some angst to stir the emotions.

This is a story about two
friends who move from a one-weekend stand, so to speak to friends with benefits
to lovers and a committed relationship.
Vanessa and Christian begin with a hot sex weekend together, and then
they find out that Vanessa will be the public relations for the band. At this point, the decision is made to be
professional and just friends. Needless
to say, that doesn’t work out for the couple they have casual hook-ups over the
years even when one or both are in other relationships.
I like these characters. Both of the main characters come off as
believably realistic people in the rock world.
The story draws out emotions from the reader, something I like in a
book; Suddenly Together does that.
Reading this tale, I found myself cheering for the couple one minutes
and the next fighting the need to slap one or both of them in the face and
sometimes wanting to give one or both of them a big hug. For me, that is a sign of a good writer.
Every couple has issues from the past that
often hinder them accepting and building a stable relationship. Vanessa and Christian have baggage. The way Ms. Low brings the couple along,
revealing their struggle stirs emotions in the reader and forms a connection
that makes the characters real. I’m a
fan of character driven novels; Suddenly Together is that for me.
In summary, Suddenly Together is
worth your time. Readers get their money’s worth. The vivid depiction of the rock scene is
realistic to me. The despicable antics
of Christian is something TMZ would report, and fans often brush aside. There are another full novel and a novella in
this series, but Suddenly Together can easily stand on its own. I never felt lost or wondering what I
missed. I do feel that I need to read
the other books soon. The conclusion is
strong and closes the couple’s story nicely while keeping the reader interested
in what the next couple has to offer.
Good job J.A. Low!
