The more books I read by Tijan the bigger fan I become. I don’t know why I took so long to start Kian this book but it sat on my Kindle for a while before I began reading it the other day.
The premise of the story is interesting, the characters are likable, and the story moves at a steady pace with a little suspense thrown in for good measure. I like Kian and Jordan. Their story has a lot of mystery and intrigue circling around them. The secondary characters are good supporters of the main characters. I really like Erica and Wanker. (Can you believe that name?) Erica is a good best friend and roommate. She comes across as a little shallow and self-involved at times but her saving grace is she really loves Jo a.k.a. Jordan. Wanker is a bit of a mystery (future book?). He is in love with Erica but she rejects him at every turn while relying on him to help her and he’s always there. In fact, Wanker is a great character; at times I find him more appealing than some of the other characters featured. I can really see him as the hero of a future story.
Some of the other characters are both good and bad. Snark, the FBI agent, has a lot of potential. Surprisingly his character sometimes kept me reading more than Jo/Jordan. He is another mystery and I often worried what he would do. He is the type of character that drifted back and forth between good and evil. Well not really evil but a person with the potential of putting a wrench in the budding romance.
The story started a little slow for me. I couldn’t relate to Jake (Jo’s former boyfriend) at all. He is so up and down that I just want him gone. Not because he didn’t add to the story but even at the end I can’t trust him. I wonder why Jo is drawn to him through the whole book.
Once Kian came on the scene the pace of the story picked up. I like the mystery and backstory for him. He is presented with the potential to be a very good man or very bad or something in between. The chemistry between Kian and Jordan is strong. They are pulled to one another despite all the people and situations that want them apart.
This is one of those books that scream out for an epilogue. I like the ending but it left me wanting more. Maybe if one of the other characters in this book get a book of his or her own Kian and Jordan will make another appearance. I hope! I hope!
Overall, this is a good story and told well. The only thing that keeps it from five stars is that I want a little less in the beginning and a little more at the end. I recommend grabbing Kian . I’m sure you will love him as much as I do.

So the computer was booted up and I FINALLY felt it click. Writing is what I needed to do. After that, I had to teach myself how to write. I can't blame my teachers for not teaching me all those years in school. It was my fault. I was one of the students that was wishing I was anywhere but at school! So after that day, it took me lots of work until I was able to put together something that resembled a novel. I'm hoping I got it right since someone must be reading this profile!
