Synopsis

The only thing better than cake is cake with a side of orgasms. Dylan James has no expectations when it comes to relationships. He uses women for sex and they use him for his money and power. It’s quid pro quo and he's good with that. It works. Beth Harrison has been burned. She's tired of the lies and the game playing that men bring and has buried herself in her passion—baking which keeps her out of the reach of heartbreak. As she begins her career as a TV baker, a new world opens up to her. Dylan and Beth both know that casual sex is all about giving what you need to get what you want. Except that sometimes you give more than you need to and get everything you ever wanted.

Excerpt

Dylan “I understood the dynamic between men and women. I got to sleep with hot women, and in exchange they got to fuck a rich guy in the hope that they’d become beneficiaries of my cash. I might be handsome, but I knew from bitter experience that if a richer guy came along, I’d be left in the taillights of the women I slept with. It just happened that now, there weren’t many richer men, which gave me a certain satisfaction. I’d made peace with the transactional nature of relationships between men and women and had no expectations. At some point in my past I’d thought that love was possible. Not anymore. It was all about giving to get.”

Indigo Nights 2

Woot! Woot!  I’m so excited to read a complete story in one book every once in a while.  There is nothing more satisfying then reading a good story from beginning to end without having to wait weeks, months, or years for the next installment.

Indigo Nights is a good romance that picked me up and took me on a journey of discovery with Beth Harrison and Dylan James.  I adore every minute of their voyage for a number of reasons.  First and foremost, these two characters just touch my soul.  Both know what a bad relationship is and try to protect their hearts for future pain.

We meet Beth after several years of sobriety.  She attends regular AA meetings to help her focus on her goal.  Her family and love of baking are the solid help.  Beth develops a YouTube station to demonstrate her baking skills.  The demonstrations come to the attention of a television station executive in Chicago and a proposal for a baking spot on a morning TV show.  On her trip from Chicago to London she runs into a gorgeous man who she labels Mr. 8A.  I love Beth’s response to Dylan’s pickup line during their first meeting.

“Just because I saw something glittery and new in the shop window doesn’t mean I’m going to hand over my credit card and take it home.”
Dylan doesn’t know how to respond to a woman who turns him down.  That just doesn't happen.  Dylan James, is the hot hunk who causes a major stir when he enters the airplane.  Beth has to look and see Mr. 8A.  It is a surprise that she feels something stir in her.  Weather delays their flight and sets up the first meeting between these two.  Dylan is a successful business man with zero interest in a relationship.  He is a one-night stand guy.  That’s a good thing for Beth as she is coming off of a four-year dry spell.  All her attention focuses on her sobriety and baking.  All I can say is what a way to end a dry spell!

“Darlin’, I told you I was going to make you see stars.  The pressure is all on me.  You just need to tell me what you’re enjoying and what’s not working for you.  I promise nerves are the last thing you’re going to be feeling.”
The book is written with dual points of view.  Each chapter switches smoothly from Beth to Dylan.  Getting in both their heads gives the reader an idea of how both characters fight some self-confidence issues even though both appear confident and sure footed to others.  It is enjoyable watching these two evolve and work through their relationship issues.  There is a little push/pull but it is believable based on past issues.  There is a little angst and a quick intake of breath near the end but I promise you will fall for Dylan big time.

Indigo Nights is a fun, fast paced look at how an unexpected encounter can grow into something more.  The sex scenes are hot and beautifully written.  Dylan definitely knows how to satisfy his woman.   There are a couple scenes that had me pulling out the fan to cool off.  My suggestion is grab a piece of chocolate cake, one-click Indigo Nights and have a good time.

About The Author

louise

USA Today bestselling author, Louise Bay writes sexy, contemporary romance novels – the kind she likes to read. Her books include the novels Faithful and Hopeful and the novella series’ The Empire State Series, What the Lightning Sees and Calling Me. The novels and together each series are stand-alone although there are some overlapping characters. Ruined by romantic mini-series of the eighties, Louise loves all things romantic. There's not enough of it in real life so she disappears into the fictional worlds in books and films. Louise loves the rain, the West Wing, London, days when she doesn’t have to wear make-up, being on her own, being with friends, elephants and champagne. She loves to hear from readers so get in touch!
