I was given this book by the author for a full and honest review.
This was the first time I
have read any of Callie Harper’s books, shame on me, but what I did discover
while reading this book was how good an author she is.
I found that from the very
onset of this book you are hooked, the writing is great and flows so well that
you just keep turning the pages one at a time and devouring each word so you do
not miss anything.
Declan Hunt, well let’s say,
if you met him in the street your mouth would water, your knees would go week
and you would practically give him anything he asked for, he is that sexy but
he also has that type of presence that draws you to him.
Kara was besotted with Declan
since she was 18, however, Kara’s father however, could see this and warned
Declan as any respectable father would to stay away from his impressionable
daughter. It was not easy for Declan but give the man a round of applause for
resisting her.
The difficulty as a reader
was that you just wanted Declan to not be so strong but to give into Kara, the
chemistry between them was off the charts and you could taste the sexual
tension between them.
The story continues going
from the past to the present and some of the way he acts to her you do think he
is an arse but you get where he is coming from well I did, I think I fell in
love with him more for that.
Kara is left heartbroken as
was I when Declan leaves without even a good bye, what a cad and we move on in
the story to 6 years down the line when her father’s ranch is bankrupt and she
needs funding to help make it work.
Exhausting all avenues Kara has no choice but go to the man she used to
love, Declan who is a prominent business man now for help. Although Declan is happy to help her, it
comes with a price and boy what a price.
This you will have to read to find out for yourself.
It is a series book
and in book 2 I think we will get more answers but for now, all I can say is
that you need to keep your eyes peeled for this series and read this book now.
