Title: LOVESTRONG (The Kingdom, #3)
Author: Nikki Groom
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: October 19, 2015
Synopsis
Growing up wasn't easy for Lottie. As an only child with self-absorbed parents, she soon learned that the one person she could depend upon was herself. A brave face and defensive self-preservation kept her strong.
Then Lottie met Spike.
He didn't see her little habits as frustrating; he embraced them.
He didn't run from her fiery temper and sharp tongue; he admired her for her tenacity.
He loved her and she loved him.
And somehow, despite Lottie's reluctance to let her guard down, Spike King managed to burrow his way in to her gentle heart and penetrate that steely armour she surrounded herself with.
Then one night it all changed.
A family vendetta.
A life shattering hit and run.
A moment that would change their lives forever.
Will their love be strong enough to pull them back together?
Or will the damage from that one fateful night keep them apart for ever?
Authors note: Spike and Lottie's story can be read as a stand alone.
However, to appreciate their personalities and the journey they have been on to get to this book, you should really read Holding Aces (The Kingdom 1) and High Stakes (The Kingdom 2).

Emotional, Heart
overwhelmingly good.
I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The third book in The Kingdom Series (Holding Aces & High Stakes)
You can read this as a
standalone book, however, I believe it is better to read the first two books as
it will give you a better insight to all the characters and the story as it
played out.
I was so happy to find out we
were finally getting Lottie and Spike’s story and how their relationship would
survive after horrible circumstances.
This was a heart wrenching
story, I don’t mind admitting that from the beginning to the end I had tears
constantly in my eyes with the struggles, heartache and determination these two
have, not to mention the unconditional love which flows through them and onto
each and every page.
Spike who is terribly injured
thinks he is doing the right thing by pushing Lottie away, after all she is so
energetic, a force or nature so to speak that he feels he cannot drag her down
and hinder her life with him stuck in the position he is. Lottie is devastated and heartbroken and at
the beginning so stubborn to show Spike she can deal with things, however, as
time went on, the more Spike felt he was doing the right thing by pushing
Lottie away from him. Lottie does the
only thing she can and decides to move half way across the world to London to
try and find a new life. NOOOOOOO I
heard myself say numerous times but yes she did.
Although Spike was distraught
he always made sure that Lottie was looked after. What he didn’t want to admit to anyone not
even himself was how much he loved Lottie and how much he missed her. He was a typical stubborn man who was scared
to admit to his true feelings and I loved him for that but was also very angry
with him for doing that to Lottie.
The torment these two went
through was heart-breaking, you could see how much they meant to each other but
also how they struggled to just admit this to each other and to be with the
other person because they thought they were doing the right thing!
I loved how the author brought
into this story the characters from the other two books and combined everyone
together, it was great and left so much room for any future novella’s or books
from this clan.
A great read

Have you ever
thought about what makes a perfect romance book? What is it that makes a
lovestory worth your time reading it? I found all my answers in Lovestrong
(Kingdom Series #3), the most heart-breaking, intense, and sweetest book I've
ever read.
I fell in love with
the Lottie and Spike characters in the Kingdom books #1 and 2 (Holding Aces
and High Stakes) and was left feeling they were so deserving their onw
book. Luckily, I was not the only one.
While reading Lovestrong,
I was totally hooked up and glued to my seat by the utterly true rendition of
the characters' phychological processes and dynamics. This book is a 'study'
not only into the amount of stress a relationship between lovers can stand, but
also into those deep family ties bonding individuals together.
Narration picks up
six months after a life-altering plot twist occurring at the end of High
Stakes and we are shown
the struggle of a man devastated both in his body and soul; Spike King is a
young man who doesn't know how to adjust to his new condition and who fails to
recognize how much those who love him are affected by it too. What is worst, he
is too deep into a spiral of denial and self-pity to acknowledge his girlfriend
Lottie's efforts to help him through this dark moment in his life. He actually
thinks she'll be better off without him and, despite his feelings for her, he
pushes her away.
With Spike rejecting
her, Lottie has to find a way to cope with her own heartbreak (and I with
mine); she feels she needs to put some space between them, a lot of space. And
that ends up with being the best thing she coud ever do. While far, far away,
Lottie realizes she's strong enough to be on her own and soon finds her
sassiness and lively character are back. On the other hand, with Lottie out of
his radar, possibly for good, Spike thinks over what he wants his life to be:
slowly he realizes that he will never be whole without Lottie and that she's
the one that makes him the best person he can ever be. Total swoon-moment.
Spike and Lottie
have their own HEA eventually, and despite some readers may see that as a
bittersweet one, I wouldn't have wanted it any other way because it is in
keeping with the true-to-life policy of the whole narrative, a living evidence
to the old saying that you can only play with the cards you're dealt.
An absolutely
amazing read, Ms Groom!!!
