So I had the full 5 books in one go to read and review, my review will be a combination of the full box set not individual books.

In book 1 we are introduced to the characters, they are not without flaws which make you all the more interested in these people as individual and how the books will progress. They may show on the outside that they are strong but when you look closer you see the insecurities and vulnerability behind that façade. You are desperate for these characters to actually let it all out, to stop closing up and relax a bit, let people in.

Frankie is brilliant, she is strong there is no doubt about that but at times you see glimpses of her weaknesses coming through no matter how hard she tries to keep them at bay. Working for her father’s rea estate company she knows what it is like to start from the bottom and work your way to the top. She is extremely motivated and dedicated after all it took her a lot of work to get to where she is at the age she is and she is proud of that. Frankie is real, you can tell she has been scarred in the past and part of me feels she is still going through that.

We then meet Derek; it took me a while to really figure him out. His personal appearance is not what you would expect. Derek to me is a man’s man so to speak, he is handsome and strong and it shows through from the inside out. Derek has also been hurt terribly in the past, his father’s death influenced Derek as to the man he is today. Derek comes across as the type of man who will only let you in if he really wants to.

Derek’s family real estate is a major deal for Frankie to capture. Derek obviously wants the best agency to work on his estate and Frankie and her father want this deal.

When Derek and Frankie meet, the magnetic pull they have to each other is instantaneous, however, both of these people want a professional relationship, a sexual one would just complicate matters wouldn’t they?

I really admired Frankie as she was determined not to give into her desires for Derek; she has worked too hard for what she wants. The problem with that theory though is that from the moment that Derek and Frankie share a kiss, Derek knows he is in trouble. He wants Frankie, no matter what and he always gets what he wants. Silly Derek thinks that a one night stand with Frankie will do the trick, get her out of his system………. We all know that never happens don’t we!

In book 2 though the sexual chemistry between these two is off the charts. The way Derek is described is just sin and sex on legs and you know he will do you damage not only to your body but your heart. He is a typical controlling Alpha and the way he talks, OMG his mouth should be washed out with the amount of dirty talk he does but you need it for this book to describe exactly what he wants

You have tension, twists and turns with Derek’s plots, the sexual chemistry all in this book 2 and it is a joy to read.

In reading all these books together I loved how Marni Mann incorporated everyone in the books, not just the main characters.

You can’t help pulling for Derek and Frankie to finally get together, to deal with the issues they face. There is no doubt you will agree while reading this series that Derek and Frankie need to be together, they are so suited to each other it would be a shame for this not to happen.

In book 3 I must admit I was a bit frustrated, although I had answers to most of my questions, I found myself asking even more and wanting to delve even deeper into the who’s & why’s LOL. These books are so well written though that you just have to keep reading as you think the answer is in the next page when it is not. Marni keeps you guessing.

What I did like is that although you know Derek as a jack the lad, never the same girl twice, he changes for Frankie and it is kinda nice to read. It is actually quite funny when the penny finally drops for Derek when he realises that he doesn’t want that lifestyle anymore, he only wants one girl and that is Frankie. Aww……

Frankie though is a bit more standoffish, she has been burned before and really does not want to mix her business with her personal life but she knows there is a pull with her and Derek, what she does about that though she needs to figure out.

The good part is we finally learn more about Reed, and to be honest he is not a guy you would really like if you met him in real life. He will not let poor Frankie alone and thinks that he is the one that Frankie needs ……. Eye right dream on boy.

Finally……. Derek and Frankie get it on in a big way LOL. You cannot deny them the chemistry they feel towards each other anymore.

No one said life was easy and it sure hasn’t been for these two and it will continue to be like that for a while. Obstacles keep coming up and trying to dispel these two, the determination that Frankie and Derek have though is commendable. They are together and will deal with issues that arise as a couple not individuals which say’s a lot about them now.

There is no doubt about it this story gets more and more intense and exciting as you go along.

In the last book everything comes to a head, the secrets are out. The commitment to each other is more powerful that you could have imagined. The great thing about Derek and Frankie is they were right for each other, they fitted so well. They knew what each other needed and were not shy or ashamed to ask for help or to support each other.

For me a great book is not only about the main characters but also about the secondary characters, you will love Brea, Will and Hayden in this series. They are what I love to call true friends.

I would highly recommend this series; you will not want to put these books down.
