Blurb:

She’s his heaven and his hell...

Muriel Stewart has spent the past year grieving the loss of her husband.  Now that time has passed, her inner submissive demands Muriel find a new relationship to fulfill her need to love and serve. But there’s only one man who makes Muriel yearn for the intimate Dom/submissive connection the way her husband did, and that’s his best friend, Mathew Galindo ... a man who can barely tolerate her presence.

Matthew Galindo buried his own heart and needs the day Muriel Stewart married his best friend and business partner. He’s spent the last eleven years keeping Muriel at a distance, tortured by his love for a woman he could never have, and filled with shame for coveting what wasn’t and would never be his. Not even his best friend’s unexpected death could change that fact. Until Muriel decides she’s ready for a new Dom and wants Matthew to fill that role.

Having Muriel in his life is all Mathew has ever wanted. She’s his heaven and his hell, and could be his salvation if he can get beyond his past, his shame, and the guilt he feels for not having saved Ian’s life.

Excerpt  (X rated)
She gasped as he rolled his hips, pushing deeper so he rubbed the magical spot inside that seemed connected to every single nerve ending in her entire body. “Wrap your arms around my neck and clasp your hands together.”
She nodded, linked her fingers together, and allowed him to take over. So close they breathed the same air, he gripped her hips and controlled her movements while thrusting again and again and again. His eyes were so dark she couldn't tell where the irises ended and the pupils began, and as he stared at her, she had the insane urge to break into tears.
It was right there, shining brightly in his eyes. He loved her. But riding alongside was deep denial, and she wasn’t sure she’d ever be able to breach the highly fortified walls designed to keep her at a distance. Anger, frustration, and overwhelming sadness crashed through her even as her body climbed higher with undeniable pleasure.
Moving a hand from her hip to a breast, he teased the nipple until it was a painful knot of nerves. When he clamped down on the tip, she cried out and arched her back, pushing herself harder into his hands.
Her body hummed and vibrated as her impending climax built. She couldn’t come without permission, but her body was his to control, and despite her emotional despair, once he gave the command, she would erupt into flames. He pumped in and out, driving her higher until she ached from head to toe, dangling on the edge of the precipice.
“I'm going to count to three…” He drew in a harsh breath as he withdrew then slammed in again, making her realize how much effort he exerted holding his orgasm at bay. “And then we're coming together.”

AUTHOR INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
Please pick a few (3-5) of these to include with your post

How did you come up with the idea for this story?

I started COVETED back in 2011 when my husband’s health took a bad turn. He’d battled a brain tumor since 2007, but in 2011 it started to grow and change into a more aggressive kind of tumor, and I was really scared about the future. About that same time, I read an article written by a slave whose Master died during 9/11. It got me to thinking about moving on after the loss of a soul mate and what it must be like for a submissive whose entire world revolves around her Master. Fortunately, once I started writing, Muriel and Mathew took over and made the story all theirs, so it didn’t become too personal for me.

Where do you find your inspiration?

Everywhere! LOL It might be from something I’ve read, a television show, or song lyrics. I’d say 80% of my story ideas come from songs. Carmella, in DARING MASQUERADE, was inspired by Katy Perry’s song “Darkhorse” and the line, “She’s a bitch. I call her Karma.”

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

Description is the worst for me. Sometimes, as I go back through and read the first draft, I realize my characters are completely naked and floating around in nothing but white space. Then I struggle with the dilemma of how much description to add to make the setting come to life and how much is too much and boring. It’s a constant battle for me.

What are your current projects?

The next story I’m gearing up to write is EXPOSED (Pandora’s Playground #2)… Lucas Steele finally gets his HEA. After that, I’ll release STRIPPED (Pandora’s Playground #3) where Mercy from GOING ALL IN (Heat Wave Novel #3) will face her demons. I’m pretty sure there will be at least 1 more Pandora’s Playground story, but I might release one or two Heat Wave stories before the 4th Pandora’s Playground. I still have to write Heat Wave stories for Steve, Robby, and Tyler. :)

Tell us about your first book. What would readers find different about the first one and your most recent published work?

SAVING ME (Heat Wave Novel #1) was actually my first book, but I rewrote it (completely rewrote it from start to finish) a total of 4 times. That’s not normally recommended. You’ll often be given the advice to put that first book in a drawer and move on to the next one, but I’m glad I stuck with it. COVETED is a definitely hotter than SAVING ME! LOL

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

I’ve tried and tried and tried to figure out what the common theme between my stories is, and the only thing I can figure out is that a lot of my characters have to learn to accept themselves, and know they’re okay, exactly as they are. And really, isn’t that something we all need to do?

Does music play any type of role in your writing?

Music plays a HUGE role in my writing. It often inspires characters and scenes, and while I can’t listen to music with words while I’m writing, I’ll often to listen to specific songs before I start writing a scene to help set the mood.

Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your life?

MATTER OF TIME was based on a past experience in my life, and I met my husband while working at an advertising agency like Kat (SAVING ME). I’m sure there’s more tidbits buried in the stories, but those are the ones that come to mind first.

What books have influenced your life most?

Janelle Denison’s THE WILDE SIDE was the first romance I ever read and gave me not only a love for the genre, but also set me on the path as a writer.

Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

Thank you!!! I’ve had a sporadic release schedule over the past several years, and I appreciate them sticking with me and their excitement over new releases. The outpouring of love and support and encouragement I’ve received has been nearly overwhelming at times (in the best possible way J ).

How can readers discover more about you and your work?

My website is alannahlynne.com
I love to connect on Facebook at either facebook.com/alannahlynne or facebook.com/AuthorAlannahLynne
I’m also on Tsu at tsu.co/AlannahLynne
And twitter is twitter.com/AlannahLynne

Do you have a special time to write? How is your day structured writing-wise?

I write best either really early in the morning or late at night. The writing comes easier when the house is quiet and I can lose myself in the story, but those ideal situations don’t present themselves very often. I’m not very good at structuring my day, but that’is something I’m working to get better at.

Why did you choose to write romance stories?

Steamy/Erotic romances chose me. LOL When I first started writing, I planned to write sweet inspirationals! My characters, however, had objections to me always shutting the door on them and said, “Fine. You want to play it that way? We’ll just go out to the beach where there aren’t doors.” It seems like no matter how hard I try, I can’t write stories that aren’t hot!

What is for you the perfect book hero?

For me, he needs to be a little wounded so he can realize how much better his life is with the heroine in it. I really like heroes with a sense of humor (which was a struggle for me while writing COVETED because in the beginning, Mathew had no sense of humor). And he’s got to have great eyes and a killer smile. A sexy body is good, but the smile is most important.

When you start a book, do you already have the whole story in your head or is it built progressively?

I usually think I know where it’s going, but the characters always take me in a different directions.   And it’s always much better than where I’d planned to take them.

List three books you have recently read and would recommend.

“Hell or High Water” by Julie Ann Walker
“Playing with Pleasure” by Erika Wilde
“Alex” by Sawyer Bennett

Will you write more about these characters?

Mathew and Muriel (COVETED) will definitely be in EXPOSED. They will probably crop up here and there in the remaining books as well, but I know there will be a ménage between Mathew, Muriel, and Lucas in EXPOSED. COVETED doesn’t have any cliff-hangers and is a complete story, but they have a few more things they need to work through before their story arc is completely finished.
