Laurie Hanson is living a lie and lying about her life. Trying to run away from her stepfather's control, she is determined to make a new start, wanting nothing from the life she had lived before, except the letters from her mother.
Chase Wright is an actor. Sexy, rich, and confident, he has the money and the good looks to get what he wants. When he meets Laurie, the meeting is fierce. She thinks he is an arrogant player. He thinks she is the most beautiful woman he has ever met. Unlike any other woman, she doesn't open up to him easily.
When Laurie gets in trouble and needs him to play the role of her fake fiancé, he jumps at the chance to help her. He is a born actor, but in her presence acting has never be so difficult when he starts to fall for her. They were never supposed to be a real couple, but some things are just worth striving for.

When the lie they live becomes too real, will it be too late to admit the truth?
It was supposed to be easy. Hire a professional actor to play my fake fiancé. But when he steps in front of my door to pick me up for The Interview, my heart stops. Chase Wright is perfect. And hot. I mean like, burn up your dress hot. However, Chase isn't professional at all. I hate what he does to me with his sinfully sexy blue eyes. I hate that he wants me in his bed.
One month...that's all I need him for. All I have to do is stay out of his bed.
But the rules slowly begin to change. My fake fiancé suddenly becomes my fake husband. When Chase offers me an indecent proposal, it's too late to fire him.
It's too late to decline.

AN INDECENT PROPOSAL: The Interview is the first book in JC Reed and
Jackie Steele’s adult, erotic, romance/suspense series in which we meet Lauren
Hanson and Chase Wright.
Lauren, is a strong willed, determined woman, however, trying to find a
job is proving difficult for her and her requirement for finances is weighing
heavily on her mind. The strange thing
is she has money in the family but after her mother died and made Lauren
promise not to touch the money, however, there are some letters left by her
mother that she does want. The problem
with that is there is a stipulation to Lauren getting those letters. Lauren
must be engaged to be married by her 23rd birthday.
It is here we meet Chase Wright an actor who agrees to be hired as her fiancé;
this does not sit well with Lauren at the time but desperate measures calls for
desperate times. At first the dynamics
between these two is very professional and business like even though Chase
would love more than that from Lauren.
There is no hiding that he finds her extremely attractive, Lauren
however, wants to keep everything on a professional basis and does not want to
complicate the situation by getting involved.
The banter between these two is great, the writing amazing and you can
feel the internal struggle Lauren is having, I mean who wouldn’t, by all
accounts to the description Chase is one HOT guy and actually wants to help
Lauren.
“I’m not like other men. I don’t want to do
anything that could hurt you, Laurie.”
You can’t help but wonder while reading if Chase is legitimate, can this
guy be real or does he have an ulterior agenda, well that is what I kept
thinking. Some things just didn’t add up
to me about him, but I thought I would give him the benefit of the doubt.
Lauren’s stepfather is another kettle of fish altogether, he is very
sneaky and underhanded, he even has his lawyer discuss new terms or her mother’s
will, causing more friction between Lauren and her already estranged
stepfather, however, him I do not like, he is up to something, I just don’t
know what yet. You can tell by this
writing that there is more than meets the eye here with him and Lauren knows it
herself.
Lauren’s best friend Jude is a character, she is funny as well as
supportive to Lauren which is nice but being the sceptic I am, I will always
reserve judgement about everyone until the very end of the books LOL.
Chase and Lauren have so much going on with their charade and things
keep happening that you know deep down shouldn’t happen, but it brings these
two a bit closer together and you can feel the connection they have, it is
there and it is tantalizing to say the least.
Lauren also starts to confide in Chase and Jude more about her family
and their history; it also gives us all an insight into why she only wants her
mother’s letters. Chase is adamant he
wants to help Lauren find the truth about mom’s death, the letters, the
stepfather and any questions she still has.
“For a few long moments, we just started at
each other in silence, the air between us thick like winter’s fog. I knew if I
dared to walk in, I might get lost forever.”
“Wearing my clothes suits you. You know what
was in those shorts? Now they’re brushing your skins. It’s almost like I’m
touching you… down there.”
The way J.C Reed and Jackie Steele have written this first book in this
series is amazing, it keeps you in suspense and wanting more and yes this is a
cliff hanger but you will no doubt devour the next book when it comes out just
to get to the bottom of the story. I
know I will.
The writing and so well done and with this being the first book for
these authors I have read I would highly recommend it.
