Body of Law Volume 3
by Amanda Lance
RELEASE DAY BLITZ
March 31, 2015
I should have known I
couldn’t change him.
Maybe I was even
wrong for trying, but I really thought Sebastian Scott had something redeemable
about him (other than his body anyway), something I could bring out if I cared
about him enough.
I was wrong.
But even though I’m
not his intern anymore, I can’t deny our physical attraction, ruining my
chances of a relationship with anyone else. If that weren’t bad enough,
Sebastian’s behavior has become more erratic than ever. I want to blame it on
the stress of the lawsuit but I have a feeling it is something else entirely.
Something dangerous.

~*~ABOUT AMANDA
LANCE~*~
A native of New
Jersey and lifelong nerd, Amanda Lance recently completed her Master in Liberal
Arts at Thomas Edison State College after her BA in English Literature and AFA
in creative writing. As an avid reader of all genres, some of her favorite authors
include Hemingway, Marquis de Sade, Stevenson, Bukowski and Radcliffe.
When she isn’t
writing or reading, Amanda can found indulging in film noir or hiking with her
other half and their extremely spoiled dog. She is obsessively working on her
next book and trying to tame her caffeine addiction.
Body of Law #3 is the last book
in the Body of Law series. Honestly, I
am really sorry that this is the last book for many reasons. Anyone who reads my reviews knows that I’m
not a big fan of serials. I’m not a
patient person and I want the whole story without waiting for the next
chapter. The exception is when a series
is well written and the author pulls me in with great characters. That happened for me with Body of Law Volume
1.
The heroine, Violet Donovan, is
my kind of heroine. She is strong, smart
and, she has a big heart. She isn’t
afraid to speak her mind even in an intern position. She wants to learn from her fellow lawyers
but she won’t be walked on and used. She
has a dream and she is working hard to realize her dream.
The hero, Sebastian Scott is hot,
an excellent lawyer but a player when it comes to relationships. He has a history with Violet going back to
when she was a young girl. Once he
allowed Violet into his life he couldn’t let her go but he is a jerk
nonetheless. Violet is teaching
Sebastian how to pull the inner good man to the surface.
Body of Law #2 ended with a major
breakup. Violet didn’t want to have her
heart broken by Sebastian and Sebastian was afraid to admit his true
feeling. Begin #3. Violet tries to move on with a nice guy but
she can’t get Sebastian out of her mind.
Not only that Sebastian can’t let Violet go and he is working to find a
way back into her life.
I love good characters regardless
of their role in the story. I hope my
previous comments confirms that these main characters are great. A good “bad guy” is just as important as the
heroine and hero of a story. This series
has the bitch, Madison, who wants to cause trouble for their relationship and a
jealous jerk, Quinn Morgan, co-work. These
two cause trouble in a big way that not only impacts the relationship but their
employment.
I like the premise of the
story. There is so much potential for
this last installment. I couldn’t wait
to find out how this couple was going to work through all their problems and
get into the meat of their relationship.
The problem is the ending suddenly appears out of nowhere. One minute I’m enjoying the journey and the
next the road ends. It is a good ending
but I feel like there is so much that is missing. I want to delve deeper and it just didn’t
happen. I’m not satisfied.
Don’t get me wrong this is a good
series with great characters. It is a
fast easy read from book one to book three.
The writing is good. The
characters are realistic. It doesn’t
take long for the reader to be invested in the story. I recommend this series especially if you
like hot, damaged lawyers. My hope is
one more book will appear but if it doesn’t this is still a pretty good story.
