***REVIEW*** BEYOND THE CONSEQUENCES by Aleatha Romig

Secrets and deception

As the pieces of their puzzle come together, Anthony and Claire Rawlings continue to defy the odds. Together they overcame an incomprehensible beginning. Apart they endured unimaginable heartache. Reunited with family and friends, their journey continues as they navigate a dangerous world where secrets threaten to destroy what they hold the most dear.

Passion and love

Tony and Claire turn up the heat as sparks fly, passion rages, and love prevails. With only a dark glance or devilish grin, the fire that sparked in an isolated suite, continues to burn. Though no longer willing to be less than Tony’s equal in life, behind closed doors only one man makes the rules.

Choices and consequences

The safety of the Rawlings family is not debatable, and only Phillip Roach can assure that they are not disappointed. Learn how he leads old friends and new associates through the dangerous world of delusion and revenge. The choices he makes for both the family and his personal life will have consequences.

Beyond the Consequences is a novel that began as the novella, A Peek Beyond the Consequences, in a limited-release anthology, Breathless. Since its publication in 2014, Beyond the Consequences has more than tripled in length with more action, heat, and secrets to reveal. Learn once and for all the identity and fate of the sender of the Rawls-Nichols letters as you join the Rawlings for a special surprise!

Theirs was a long, complicated story with a monster and a knight. What made their story unique was that these two players were the same person.—Aleatha Romig, CONVICTED

WOW, Brilliant, Amazing, Awesome this is how I felt while reading Beyond the Consequences by Aleatha Romig If I could give it 10 stars I would

I was so pleased that Aleatha wrote this 5th book in this series, desperate to know what was next for Tony and Claire and what happened next for them all.  I actually found myself reading until 3am in the morning as I could not put this book down it was just that good.

At the end of Revealed, I did think, Oh wait I still have questions, will these be answered and I am here to say that hopefully in Beyond the Consequences, you like me will also have your questions answered. I was so pleased that while reading I felt at peace as Aleatha did indeed answer everything what was swirling around my head.

I was so glad that when I did sit down to read, I did not need re read the last chapter of Revealed to know what had happened before everything came back to me just with the prologue.

This book has the usual Aleatha drama, intrigue and suspense but it also had lots of laughter and love, especially love.

The book begins with the family travelling all together in the private plane and it is here that we first see the new Claire, the improved Claire, the stronger Claire and the Claire that knows what she wants for her and her family. “Too much time had been lost in the past, she wasn’t’ willing to grant it anymore” This part just showed me the determination in Claire and I could not wait to dig right in.

Claire and Tony still have obstacles to get over and it is by no means an easy task but the brilliant thing in this book is they do it together.  Yes there are issues to deal with and there is no shortage of OMG and WTH but there is also so much Awwww and Yeah as well.  The love for Tony that Claire has is palatable in this book and truly amazing. “He wasn’t her star, but her sun. Just like the real celestial object that controlled the solar system, Tony was the gravitational pull whom she willingly allowed to dictate her orbit and warm her heart”

What about Tony, I hear you say, has he changed; well there is still the controlling, dominant side of Tony, “I’ve made our fortune with negotiations.  I hope you don’t think I’m easy to manipulate”  but there is also the very loving, caring side of Tony that was a pleasure to read It was lovely to see Tony in all his glory again, I have missed him, “He couldn’t imagine seeing those emerald eye lifeless or without spark.  From the first time he’d seen Claire, up close and in person, he was drawn to the life in her beautiful eyes.  I think I fell in love with Tony all over again”.

You meet all the usual characters from the other books like Emily & John and Eric and the lovely Phil. Ahhh Phil, what can I say, if ever there was a man whom I would want to protect me it would be Phil.  I loved the way in this book Aleatha gave us an insight in not only Claire and Tony’s life with Nichol but she includes everyone in this story and you feel connected to them all.

I loved how we got to know everyone so much better, the pasts and present issues, with a few surprises thrown in just the way Aleatha does it.

Nichol is such a sweetie and the relationship Claire and Tony have with their daughter just brings a tear to your eye, there is so much love there it is lovely to read.  You can tell that Nichol is her father’s daughter, she does have Tony wrapped around her little finger but the lovely thing is he does not care; Tony is in his element about it all. I loved when Nichol had a nightmare and made Tony check under her bed for monsters, priceless “Nichol stood on the bed and flung herself into Tony’s arms, You have to read me one more story too” you can see here at such an early age she is such a good negotiator at such a young age she must have got that from Tony.

The way this book is written is brilliant and flawless and if you loved the rest of the books in this series you are going to be blown away by this book. The way Aleatha describes everything made me picture it all in my head and made the book more real to me

I will leave you with this by our lovely, dominant, controlling but loving Tony
“I love you.  You’re my life, my drug, my anchor.  You’ve made me into a man who deserves to have you in his life”

So much more than 5 Stars to me, more like 10 Stars
