When
Tabitha and her best friend Leslie were young, they made a pact to never get
involved with the same guy. That wasn’t a problem for Tabitha, especially as
far as Leo Pesciano was concerned. Tabitha hated the guy. It didn’t matter that
he was good looking and all of the other girls drooled over him, and Leslie had
a big crush on him. He was obnoxious and loved to rile Tabitha up; but when she
is faced with life-altering challenges, Leo becomes her protector and her
friend.
There is a strong chemistry between them that Tabitha tries very hard to ignore, but Leo doesn’t make it easy. After an explosive end to their friendship during their college years, more than nine years later they are reunited and Tabitha is again resistant to the attraction she feels to Leo.
Time, distance, and new lives have come between Leslie and Tabitha over the years, and they rarely speak or see each other, but Tabitha tries to uphold the girl code they created when they were children. Her loyalty to her old friend is admirable, but will this same loyalty destroy her chance with the man who just may be the love of her life?

I first became a fan of LD Davis from her Accidently On
Purpose Series and was instantly hooked on her writing.
I was so excited to have the opportunity to read Girl Code
the latest book by LD Davis. I must
admit I was blown away by this book as I have been with all of the previous
books written by this amazing author.
LD has a way in her writing that keeps you reading on and on
until you have finished the book, well that is what it was like with me. I love her writing it is just so compelling
and she has such a writing skill that builds and builds all the way through
until you have to know what happens next and then WHAM!!! LD hits you right in
the face with the outcome and you are left with your mouth open and grasping
for breath, or was that just me again LOL.
Ok so enough rambling, what can I tell you about Girl
Code. Well in this book we read about
Tabitha, Leo and Lesley all the trials and tribulations that they go through
from early teens in high school to reconnecting again in college. They are tested to the hilt, their
friendship, the friendship of those around them and their lives in general but
no matter what any of these people go through one thing remains and that is the
feelings they have for each other.
In high school Tabitha and her best friend Lesley have a
‘Girl Code’ where they promise each other never to go out with the guy that the
other ones have gone out with. Do you
believe in Girl Code, Do you think it is rubbish? You know I did believe in it until I read
this book and now I have a completely different opinion I am not sure what I
would do.
Tabitha, is a lonely girl, her only support is her brother
Tack, she is self conscious because of her weight, she does not have much love or affection from
her parents and the only other person she relies on is Lesley her best friend.
Tabitha loves writing and wants to be a successful writer when she is older,
that is her dream.
Leo, great guy, funny, smart and smoking hot even in High
School, has a thing for Tabitha but then Tabitha thinks he is just obnoxious
and does not think of him any other way than a friend from school. Leo goes out with Lesley, Tabitha’s best
friend, thus making Leo, Tabitha’s second best friend.
Lesley is Tabitha’s best friend, she is supportive,
beautiful, and so into Leo she actually asks him out but not before asking
Tabitha if she was ok with it and instituting the Girl Code.
It is not long before we see Tabitha needing Leo’s help when
she is nearly raped at a Frat Party which her brother told her not to go to but
like a teenager who is lonely and unloved she went, she wanted to be
accepted. Leo does come to Tabitha’s
help and it is here we see the first spark between these two. Leo show’s Tabitha then how much she means to
him.
It is not until college when Tabitha and Leo connect again
at another party, it is later when Leo tells Tabitha how much she means to him
but because of Lesley Tabitha feels she cannot act on her feelings to Leo, this
made me so mad, Lesley was out of the picture and Tabitha did not hear from her
much but because of this code Tabitha felt she could not have the happiness she
deserved. All she wanted in life was
love and acceptance and happiness. Leo
opened Tabitha’s eyes to the fact that the Girl Code was so full of shit and
that Lesley held it over Tabitha to ensure that the so called code was always
there.
I loved Leo here as I felt that maybe for once Tabitha would
listen to him and trust her instincts and do something for herself but again
the self doubt came into her mind and all she could focus on was that bloody
Girl Code.
Leo tried over and over again to show Tabitha how much she
meant to him and I loved how he said it in Italian “I
came here for you, il mia bellissimo amore, la mia vita” My Beautiful love. My
Life. This was so beautiful
and my heart melted here.
Well they never say love runs smoothly and it didn’t for
Tabitha and Leo, things were said and things turned nasty, Leo left and Tabitha
was left alone again all due to this stupid Girl Code and her loyalty to
Lesley. Don’t get me wrong I admire
Tabitha for staying true to her friend but I was also screaming at her to open
her eyes and have something for her.
Time did pass and you are left wondering if these two will
ever get together, but they do meet up and it is just as if they never left
each other, the feelings were still there.
They maybe older and living their own lives but they cannot stop their
feelings but do they act on it.
I loved Leo and some of the things he says have just had me
laughing
“You want me,” Leo said in a cocky, but
teasing tone. “I want you about as much
as I want an incurable disease” “So,”
Leo said, right behind me, sliding his hand onto my hip again as if it was the
most natural thing in the world. “What you’re saying is that I am like an incurable
disease, right?” “Yes, a really bad one,” I said insolently. “So, in essence,
what you are saying is that you want me bad, and that you can’t shake me,” Leo
said, so proud of himself for coming to his ridiculous conclusion. I loved this playful but meaningful Leo.
You cannot read this book but feel everything that Tabitha
is feeling or Leo for that matter and yes I cried but I laughed and loved and
felt the pain in every chapter I read.
The most intimate, incisive part of the way these two feel in
this book in my opinion was when Leo first saw Tabitha’s tattoo, KNOW MY
STORY......KNOW MY HEART. The tattoo was so revealing to Leo of what she was
feeling all those years and Leo got that, he understood, he knew her story, he
knew her heart but he wanted to know more, he wanted to know every detail,
every hurt, every pain, every feeling she was having. To me this was such a poignant part of their
story and one of the most beautiful parts to read.
“Ti amo. Tu sei tutto il mio mondo, tutta
la mia vita” ~ I love you. You are my whole world, my whole life. “There will never be anyone else,”
he concluded. “Ti amo,” I whispered back,
and then he kissed me
OMG let me melt now....
Things never go smoothly for these two and pasts come back
to haunt both Tabitha and Leo and I wondered if they would ever get back
together and my heart hurt so much, I wanted these two people to be happy.
Can these two every find their happiness???, can they be
together???
I would seriously recommend this book to everyone

Coming Soon
I had the opportunity to
sit down with Tabitha and Leo
to ask them some
questions people are dying to know.
Sheena: Welcome Tabitha
& Leo, thank you for agreeing to meet with me today
Tabitha
& Leo: *No problem, Sheena! Nice accent by the way ;)
Sheena: Well
you two look as happy as can be...How you both are going on
Leo: *Of course she’s
happy. She’s with me! Her hot, Italian Stallion. Her hero. Her sex machine. She
loves me, you know – ow!
Tabitha: *Do you see what I have to live with?
Sheena: Tabitha
you have a little sparkle in your eye, care to elaborate
Tabitha: I suppose I am just
finally, truly happy. Even when he is driving me nuts, I’m ridiculously happy.
Sheena: So Leo how is business, any developments?,
Leo: Business is fantastic!
Leo’s On the Bay is a total hit!
Sheena: Tabitha, how is your
writing going anything new on the horizon you want to share with us all?
Tabitha: I was thinking
about writing a book about a girl who fell in love with a boy but couldn’t have
him because he was dating her best friend. What do you think? ;)
Sheena: LMAO I think that would
be an excellent book Tabitha
Sheena: Leo
something I know everyone will be asking is. When Tabitha is writing does she
discuss the sexy scenes with you and do you any input, tips?
Leo: She won’t discuss
them with me while she’s writing them. I usually have to sneak onto her
computer later to read what she wrote. It’s almost always based off of
something we did together. I’m so proud that my awesome sexual skills are
making horny women happy across the planet – ow! Damn it, Tacky!
Tabitha: I’m glad you asked
this question, Sheena. Now I have to change my password! But for the record,
Leo is right. He is my inspiration for all of my sex scenes!
Sheena: So we all know it took you both a while to get to
where you are today, would you change anything
Tabitha: Yes, I think I
would have followed my heart much sooner. I wouldn’t have put both of us
through years of torture.
Leo: I wouldn’t have left. I would have been everywhere
she looked until I broke her down and she couldn’t resist me anymore.
Sheena: I have
to admit, I was completely blow away with your Italian Leo, can I ask how much
you use of it to get your wicked way with Tabitha
Leo: Every damn day,
bellissimo. *big grin*
Sheena: Tabitha how much do you love Leo
speaking in Italian
Tabitha: I NEVER, EVER get tired of it. Ever.
Sheena: *sighs*,
Oh Tabitha, I think I would be right there with you, just the thought of it
makes me all gooey
Sheena: So Tabitha, we know more about what happened with your
cousin’s Emmy and Mayson are you all still close, do you see them more now since
finding out what happened.
Tabitha: I’ve always been
really close to Mayson, but now I talk to Emmy all of the time. She’s become a
large part of my life. I’m so glad that we settled our differences – okay that
I settled MY differences with HER. She’s a strong, brave woman and I’m so glad
to know her again.
Sheena: Leo, we all want to know truthfully, what your
first thoughts were when you first met Tabitha and Tabitha; we want to know
your first thoughts on Leo as well.
Leo: I was
so young when I first met her, but her simplicity blew me away. She was
beautiful and so different from the other girls. I was even more blown away
when she opened her sassy mouth.
Tabitha: He was cute, but I
wanted to –
Leo: Skate on my face?
Tabitha: I still want to skate on
your pretty face. It took me awhile to come around. Like years. I’m still not
sure if I’ve completely come around.
Leo: See? That sassy mouth.
It’s so sexy.
Sheena: So the time apart for both of you must have been difficult and I
don’t want to open wounds but we all would love to know how you both felt at
that time.
Leo: I
thought about Tabitha every damn day. I wanted her every damn day. I always
held out hope that she’d take her head out of Leslie’s ass -
Tabitha: My head was not up
her ass! I was just being…loyal, but I realize now that loyalty was very much
misplaced. But to answer your question, Sheena, my heart broke when I sent Leo
away all of those years ago, but now…now it’s whole. It’s complete. I’M complete.
Sheena: Leo so how do you
keep fit, your body is amazing, and yes I am drooling sorry Tabitha
Leo: Well, you know,
Sheena. I was born to be a hot piece of man candy; however, now that Tabitha is
finished running away from me every other day, I’ve been able to get back on
track with a daily workout in the early mornings.
Sheena: Tabitha, seriously woman,
how can you concentrate on writing when you have this hunk beside you all day
Tabitha: Thank goodness he
has his own work to do or I probably wouldn’t get much done. It’s especially
distracting when he’s just out of the ocean or pool or shower, all wet and
drippy and muscular and sexy…
Sheena: *wicked grin across
my face** so now that you two are together, how’s the errr ummm sex, still hot
and heavy as it was before
Tabitha: It’s…electric, pure
electric.
Leo: I have to agree. It’s definitely hotter…and more
adventurous… *sly grin*
Sheena: So you two, there
must be something about each other that is not a good quality, like snoring or
not a morning person, so give, tell us all what that it just so we know you are
both human LOL
Tabitha: He leaves his wet
towels on the bathroom floor, his dirty socks get caught in our bedding, and he
leaves hair in the sink after shaving. Let’s not get into how he occasionally
misses the toilet when he’s not quite awake in the mornings, or the toothpaste
on the sink.
Leo: Yes, I do all of
that and more. I can be a bit of a slob at times, but…well, Tabs is perfect.
Every quality about her is perfect, even the bad ones.
Sheena: ***batting eyelids*** aww Leo, that is so sweet, do you have a twin I
can have LOL
Sheena: Ok so
when you got together, all I have to say is wow! How did you two not rip each
other’s clothes off at the get go.
Leo: We had waited so many years, what was
another few minutes? I wanted to savour EVERY SECOND and EVERY INCH of her.
Tabitha: It was perfect. I’m
glad we didn’t rip each other’s clothes off. It would have gone too fast, and
like Leo, I wanted to savour every bit of it. I wanted to feel the slow burn.
Sheena: Your children are
adorable and we know you are due your 3rd so what happens next, will
you continue to be a baby factory Tabitha or is this the last one and Leo what
about you, do you want more children, you seem to be very hands on father very
caring and devoted
Tabitha: I told
my brother that this was the last one, but I don’t know. I love our kids and I
love making and having kids with Leo.
Leo: If we have a dozen
kids together and we’re just as happy if not happier than we are now, then I’ll
be perfectly fine with that.
Sheena: Thank you Leo and
Tabitha for taking the time to talk to me today and I hope and pray that your
lives are blessed more than they have been now.
If there is one thing you
would want our readers to know what it would be.
Tabitha: I believe in true
love. I believe that some things are meant to be, but that doesn’t mean that
you don’t have to work for it, that you don’t have to fight for it, that you
won’t make mistakes and have to pay the consequences. Work hard, fight harder,
and own up to your mistakes and try not to repeat them. Then love with
everything you have and never give up.
Leo: Well,
that was more than one thing, but I agree. I can’t say it any better. I love
you, Tabitha, amore mio, la mia vita.
