When he left California, Jesse was determined to start over in West Virginia with his mother. Now, the past is determined to catch up with him—first, with the appearance of Ally, and when Emma and Andy come back into his life.
Just when Emma thinks she’s found Jesse, a dark secret and misunderstandings force them apart before they can even reconnect. Jesse is torn between his love for Emma and protecting his childhood friend, Ally. Ally has an agenda of her own, and she’s not about to let Emma get in her way—even if that means getting rid of her…permanently.
Can Emma and Jesse’s relationship survive all of their twisted ties?

Twisted Ties is the second and final book in the Ties duet by K.A. Robinson. You definitely have to read book one, Shattered Ties, before reading this book. Also, if you haven't read Shattered Ties this will contain some spoilers for that book.
Chapter One picks up exactly where the epilogue of Shattered Ties ends, with Emma heading to school in West Virginia with the hope of finding Jesse again. What I didn't expect was her deep friendship with Jesse's friend, Andy. The way that their friendship started and grew was fairly unconventional and completely unexpected but it was one of my favorite parts of the book.
In Andy and Emma's quest to find Jesse they first stumble upon Andy's sister, Ally. The girl who caused Jesse and Emma's huge misunderstanding and break-up. She had found Jesse first and has some VERY unwelcome and surprising news for everyone. Watching her manipulate everything to her advantage was maddening!
As the story progresses and things begin to unravel I was completely drawn in. There were some huge twists that kept me on my toes and some times that I just wanted to reach into my nook and slap a bitch! Jesse's situation really hurt my heart. I was so upset that he was in the situation that he was in and that his happiness was unattainable because he was trying to be a good person and help out his childhood friend.
The climax of the book kept me completely riveted, I knew that something was going to happen along those lines but I never imagined how intense it was going to be. I was on pins and needles wondering what was going to happen to everyone. I was a little bit surprised by the apparent fate of one of the characters, I really didn't see that coming. At. All.
I truly enjoyed Twisted Ties and am very happy with the fates of most of the characters. I would like to get a little more on Andy though. That boy has me all kinds of worked up and I want to know his entire story and see him end up being completely whole and happy.

I knew Andy had to work tonight, but I hoped he was at home by now. There was no way that I could go back to my dorm room and sit alone while all of this was going through my head. I was hanging on to my sanity by a thread, and I knew that if I was by myself while dealing with this, I’d lose it.
I nearly cried in relief when I pulled into his apartment complex parking lot, and I saw his car sitting there. I didn’t have to be alone. He would help me. I ran across the lot, and in too much of a hurry to use the
elevator, I sprinted up the stairs to his floor.
Tears were streaming down my cheeks as I beat on his door. I prayed that he hadn’t fallen asleep yet. I had a key to his apartment, but I hated to use it this late at night. I didn’t want him to think someone was trying to
break in.
The door opened, and Andy was standing there. He took one look at me and pulled me into his arms.
“Emma, what’s wrong?” he asked.
I was crying too hard to speak, so I shook my head.
“Who’s that?” an unfamiliar female voice asked.
