Nico Hunter stole a little piece of my heart in this fantastic new novel from Vi Keeland.
He is all alpha male, who is broken from his past but knows what he wants in his future.
He carries around shame and guilt for the incident that has scarred him and tainted his MMA reputation.
It eats away at him and threatens to destroy anything good that may come his way.
He's not the only one with a jaded past.
Elle is living her life, day to day, and playing it safe.
She has worked hard for her reputation and a career but underneath she is as damaged as the tarnished MMA fighter.
"I never though I'd be happy. I was content with flat lining my way through life. It was good enough."
The guilt that this pair feel is totally understandable.
They both have their cross to bear and they need to share that burden to make it lighten live without so much pain and anguish.
No one blames them, and they need to let go and stop blaming themselves, but it's not that easy when it weighs so heavily.
The attraction they feel towards one another is instant. Their relationship however took time to build, which added to the believability.
They went on dates, got to know each other and learned to support each other through the rough times before they declared their undying love for each other.
"When I look in your eyes, I see a little flicker. "
"And for the last 24 hours all I could think about was what it would take to turn that flicker into a flame. "
Oh and they are super HOT together!! Nico is just, well, he has the filthiest mouth and the scenes between them were really quite delicious. Did I mention he has tattoos?!!
"Ride me. You're so tight and wet. I'm going to fill up that sexy little pussy and make it mine. I want my smell on you. In you. So that the whole god damn world knows you're mine."
A fast paced read with enough angst to keep you reading and plenty of steam to balance out the drama.
The characters are believable and likeable and I was sorry when it was over!
