SYNOPSIS
Jace Montgomery single-handily built the largest all-star cheerleading gym in the world, driven by a need to forget a life-altering encounter with a handsome quarterback a decade ago. His reputation as an excellent coach, hard-nosed business man, and savvy entrepreneur earned him respect in the sometimes catty world of competitive cheerleading. When Jace learns of his ex-lover’s plans to marry, his heart executes a barrel roll and his carefully-placed resolve tumbles down without a mat to absorb the shock. Can his island escape help him to finally let go of the past and move his life forward?
SARAH'S 5-STAR REVIEW
This book was amazing, fabulous, wonderful... I loved it. Several days after reading it Colt and Jace's story still runs through my head.
Colt had been watching Jace from afar. Jace is everything that Colt has ever wanted. He finally makes his move in the men's locker room late one evening during heir senior year of college. After this encounter they both know that they want more. When Colt invites Jace on an all expense paid trip to Hawaii with him Jace is sure that it is all too good to be true. When he gets there and finds out that everything that Colt has said to him is true he is blissfully ecstatic. At least until they return home. When Colt completely blows him off he resigns himself to the fact that they will only have those few perfect days in paradise. They both move on with their lives. Colt as a famous football player and Jace as the owner of the largest all-star cheer gym in the country.
When Jace learns of Colt's engagement to a Russian supermodel he runs to the only place that he can think of. The little piece of paradise that he had shared with Colt all of those years ago. Here he hopes to make new memories and finally put Colt behind him. Little does Jace know that the only reason that Colt left him all those years ago to protect him. Or that Colt lives in a drunken stupor. Or that the only reason he is engaged is to, once again, protect Jace. When Colt finally comes to his senses, gets clean and decides that he is done letting everyone else control his life all he can hope is that it is not too late for him and Jace.
Kindle completely amazed me with this book. I knew that I wanted to read it as soon as I read the synopsis but I had no idea just how much it would draw me in. I read it all in one setting, staying up 'til the wee hours of the morning to finish it. I just couldn't put it down.
Jace was great, but Colt won my heart. Where Jace was all blatantly wonderful and kind and forgiving, Colt was broken and hard on the surface, but underneath would do anything for the person that he loved. Colt spent a decade living a life that he hated to protect the only person that he had ever given his heart to. At every turn there was someone wanting something from him without ever caring about him, yet his whole life was constructed around protecting Jace. I absolutely loved him. He was far from perfect, but it made him so much easier, for me, to care about.
Jace and Colt's story was far from easy These two don't know what easy is when it comes to love. As such a public figure in the sports world Colt had to spend most of his time denying who he really was. Jace's career as a cheerleader made it easier for his sexuality to be acceptable. Not to say that he doesn't have his own struggles but his lifestyle makes his sexuality more acceptable. There are so many forces trying to force Jace and Colt apart that it was heartbreaking.
Kindle told a massively intriguing story that had me on pins and needles from the start. I had to know what happened. The story was heart warming, and heart wrenching, and everything in between. There was nothing that I would have changed in the book. The struggles make the happy parts that much more wonderful.
I would suggest Double Full to anyone who reads M/M romance. I know that gay romance is not for everyone but it is not told in a way that is derogatory or disrespectful. The love between Jace and Colt was just as wonderful as the love between any straight couple I've read about. There were love scenes and they were relayed in a completely tasteful way. This genre might not be for everyone but this book should be read by anyone who reads romance. There was just nothing about it that was not beautiful.

"I've been watching you since we were freshmen. I couldn't ever get up the nerve to talk to you. I knew if I didn't do it tonight, we'd graduate, and I'd lose my chance."

"Colt couldn't let Jace be hurt. He had to protect him, no matter how badly his heart broke. Jace was too good for this, too perfect for Colt's world."

"I promise I'll be here when you wake, Jace," he whispered and pressed a kiss to Jace's furrowed brow. "Every day... for the rest of our lives."
